Every Monday afternoon for the last few weeks, we have had specialist coaching with Conrad. Conrad works for Oldham Athletic. He has been working with us to develop our speed, agility and fitness and we have really enjoyed our lessons with him. Here are some photos from our most recent lesson.
In Woodlands Class this afternoon we got really messy. We made potions that could be useful to witches and wizards. The children used their imagination to describe the ingredients, turning ordinary things you could find in the supermarket into goblin's fingers, mermaid's skin and much more!
On Thursday 21st September, Woodlands Class visited Castleshaw. We learnt about the Romans and actually got to dress up as roman soldiers. We wore a helmet and carried a sword (Gladius) and shield (scutum). We learnt how to make a defensive formation called a Testudo (tortoise). We also charged up the hill. Later in the day, we walked up to the fort at Castleshaw to see where some Roman Auxilliary soldiers would have lived.
