This week in maths, we have been working on coordinates. We have been learning to read and plot points in the first quadrant. On Wednesday, we completed a completely outdoor maths lesson on coordinates. Mrs Drabble, Mr Lees and Mr Ahad set up a giant coordinates treasure hunt around the playground. The coordinates revealed letters that we used to spell mathematical vocabulary. Some of us did not stop running for the whole hour!
In Woodlands Class, we have been trialling using physical activities in our maths lessons. We play games that get our hearts racing and brains thinking!
We also take the opportunity to use the outdoor space to understand concepts such as symmetry, coordinates, properties of shapes etc. See some of our photos below!
